Companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Gillette and Turtle Wax have launched sponsorship deals with major players in the e-sports industry, partnering with players, sponsoring tournaments and releasing virtual goods players can purchase. According to estimates from Newzoo, e-sports could generate advertising revenue of $173.8 million this year alone.
