Take A Sneak Peek Inside The Upcoming Skoda Scala’s Cabin

Skoda’s been making noise about its forthcoming new compact hatchback. Now it’s announced that it will reveal the all-new model next month. And in the process, it’s provided a glimpse inside the cockpit for the first time ahead of its grand debut.

Called the Scala, Skoda’s new hatchback is set to replace the Rapid, and bring the design cues previewed by the Vision RS concept into production.

That includes the design theme for the interior, which is set to adopt many of the cues we saw in the aforementioned concept at the Paris Motor Show barely over a month ago, and implement them in one of the most generously expansive cabin spaces in its class.

As you can see from these latest preview images, the new Skoda Scala’s dashboard is also set to integrate a free-standing 9.2-inch infotainment display that will, like the 467-liter (16.5-cubic-foot) luggage compartment, also be among the largest in this highly competitive segment – joined by an optional 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit instrument display.

The Czech automaker also promises higher-quality, soft-touch cabin materials like you’d expect to find in higher-end vehicles, like available Suedia microfiber upholstery. Expect the latest active safety systems to feature as well in what looks poised to be a game-changer for Skoda as it goes after a larger slice of a vital mass market for C-segment hatchbacks.

Skoda is slated to reveal the new Scala on December 6 in Tel Aviv, Israel’s vibrant seaside metropolis, where this and other Volkswagen Group divisions have been pouring vast resources into the burgeoning transportation technology sector.
